Warsaw Travel Guide

Warsaw is situated in the east-central area of Poland and is the country’s capital city. The city strides the Vistula River and is an important economic, business, tourism and leisure centre with a rich modern history. Summers are pleasantly warm, or even hot at times, whereas winters are bitterly cold. Large skyscrapers sit alongside a UNESCO World Heritage listed old town with buildings from the renaissance, gothic, baroque and neo-classical periods scattered in-between. From the Royal Route with its fabulous palaces to the Royal Castle and Market Square of the old town, the museums and galleries to the fabulous shopping, bars, clubs and restaurants Warsaw is a thriving cosmopolitan city with plenty on offer for a short-mid stay city break.

Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport is located 10km south of the city centre and is served by train, bus and taxi. The transport infrastructure throughout the city is very good and includes a new Metro network. Bus journeys cost around 3PLN one way.
