Paphos is a tourist resort on the south-west coast of Cyprus. It has a pretty harbour and fort, and several beaches, the best being just outside Paphos at the resort of Coral Bay. There are sites of historical interest and importance in Greek Mythology. Petra tou Romiou, said to be the birthplace of Aphrodite, the Tombs of the Kings, the House of Dionysos and St Paul’s Pillar all form part of the whole town being included on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list. There are also plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants. Further afield are the Troodos Mountains and the fantastic waterpark at Limassol.

The airport is 6.5km south-east of the town. Local buses cost as little as 1 euro into town but offer little luggage space. Taxis are around 25 euros to Paphos and 65-75 euros to Limassol.
