Malaga Travel Guide

Malaga is generally considered the gateway to the Costa del Sol and is a large city in the south of Spain. The city itself has a lovely marina, beaches, sophisticated bars and restaurants, a charming old town and many historical sights of interest. It is the birthplace of Picasso and the museum houses several original paintings. There is also a Roman theatre, Alcazaba (one of two Moorish castles) and a fantastic cathedral. Close by is a mixture of lively and exclusive resorts such as Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Marbella and Estepona, as well as a large theme park at Tivoli World.

Malaga has a large airport well served by bus, train and taxi. Buses run half-hourly and are less than 2 euros into the city centre. Taxis cost around 15 euros, or alternatively most of the car rental companies have a presence at the airport, although it is advisable to book in advance.
