Ibiza (and neighbouring Formentera) is the nearest Balearic island in the Mediterranean Sea to mainland eastern Spain. Ibiza has grown up in recent years - it’s no longer just about 24hr partying (which continues to uphold Ibiza’s reputation as clubbing capital of the world), but also a place to spend time relaxing and unwinding either at one of the many quieter beach resorts or numerous villas dotted around the island. Try the livelier resorts of San Antonio and Playa d’en Bossa, the more sophisticated capital Ibiza Town, or the more family friendly resorts of Santa Eulalia, Es Cana, Portinatx or Cala Llonga.

The airport is situated to the south of the island near Ibiza Town. There are regular bus services from the airport to the capital and San Antonio. Licensed taxis are far better priced than fixed-price taxis right outside the airport. Alternatively car hire is recommended.
